Beschreibung

Gegenständliche Bildwelten überlagern abstrakte und/oder lösen sich darin auf. Ein Chaos zuckender Farbigkeit und Struktur, in das plötzlich ein lineares Ereignis einbricht: ein Auto rast bei klassischer Musik aus dem Radio über eine kurvenreiche Landstraße. Im dichter werdenden Nebel löst sich das Geschehen auf. Zurück bleibt ein Quadrat, das bis zum Ende des Films als Rahmen oder Leinwand fungiert. Der weitgehend experimentelle Ton unterstreicht die surreal-traumartige (traumatische?) Bildwelt von großer assoziativer Dichte. Der Titel „Während des Aufpralls“ als Kontext zur Szene der Autofahrt auf der Landstraße legt nahe, an ein Unfallgeschehen zu denken, auch wenn kein entsprechendes Bild direkt gezeigt wird. Stattdessen erleben wir die Bildwelt eines fassungslos übervollen Augenblicks.

Description

Representational imagery overlays abstract imagery and/or dissolves into it. A chaos of flickering colors and textures is suddenly interrupted by a linear event: a car races down a winding country road with classical music playing on the radio. The action dissolves into the thickening fog. What remains is a square that serves as a frame or canvas until the end of the film. The largely experimental sound underscores the surreal, dreamlike (traumatic?) visual world of great associative density. The title “During the Impact,” as context for the scene of the car ride on the country road, suggests the possibility of an accident, even though no corresponding image is shown directly. Instead, we experience the visual world of a moment of bewildering overload.
